Get Money to Return to College with FAFSA Financial Aid

Submitted by admin on Wed, 12/08/2010 - 15:02

The recent economic downturn has meant that many people are going back to school at 40 or older. Some people who have been laid off or are otherwise unemployed have realized that increasing their level of education is critical for advancing in the tough job market. However, paying for school can be an obstacle for anyone, whether they currently have a job or are unemployed.

With the cost of higher education increasing each year, some people think that it’s impossible for them to be able to afford to get a college education. The good news is that there are also plenty of scholarships and grants for going back to school that are currently available. One of the best sources of income is through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which gives you direct access to billions of dollars of federal money earmarked for financial aid.

Many people don’t complete and send in their FAFSA applications because they believe they make too much money or because they think federal financial aid is just for students entering college directly from high school. The truth is that an adult going back to school has as much of a right to federal financial aid and in some cases circumstances like supporting a family could make them eligible for additional scholarships, grants and loans.

You’ll never know if you qualify for financial aid unless you apply first. You can download a FAFSA form at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and see if you can get some valuable help in paying for your college education.
