Scholarships for Single Mothers
Mothers, especially single mothers are faced with the dual responsibility of taking care of the home and providing for their children. If you are interested in going back to school and the only factor preventing you from doing so are the costs associated with it, consider applying for scholarships. Fortunately, there are many government, non profit organizations and private companies that are offering scholarships to single mothers. Award amounts, deadlines, and eligibility requirements vary, so please be attentive when applying.

Be Careful of Scholarship Scams
If you are notified that you “won” a scholarship that you never applied to, it is most likely a scam. Scholarships that ask you to pay for fees so they can process your application are most likely not legitimate either. Remember, the reason why you’re applying for a scholarship is so you can receive money, not part with your money. Be careful and be diligent with your research. Apply to scholarships that are sponsored by reputable organizations and foundations.
